IIT-JEE is one of the toughest undergraduate examination. It is like a dream come true for most of the Indians who are inclined towards engineering. Undoubtedly, IITs being one of the top most technical institutes in the country, it has lakhs of applicants, while only few of them able to make through it.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made Aadhar card mandatory for students appearing for IIT-JEE (Main) in 2017, except for few region like Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya
In a fresh circular, CBSE has informed that they have set up facilitation centres for Aadhar car enrolment especially for IIT aspirants. The list of the facilitation centre is available on the official website – jeemain.nic.in
The aspirants who have Aadhar card need to enter their aadhar card number, name, gender and date of birth while filling application form online. Those who have not received the Aadhar card, they need to enter 28 digit Aadhar Enrollment ID, which is printed on their slip while applying for card.
In case, if any students has some invalid or wrong information on aadhar card then it should be rectified before applying for the test.
Aadhar obviates the need for producing multiple documents to prove one’s identity. The Aadhar number will help in accuracy of applicant’s details. This will also help in ascertaining identities of the applicants at the examination centres in a hassle free and convenient way.
Aadhar card Enrollment Facility is not available for candidates belonging to Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya. IIT-JEE 2017 aspirants from these states can fill their application form using any of their identity proofs like ration card number, passport number, bank account number, or any other valid government identity proof, in case they select the city of examination in these states only.

- Keep your necessary documents required for payment ready. Aspirants can chose either online mode or offline mode of payment. Candidates going with online mode must have debit card/credit card while candidates making necessary payment through offline mode can pay through Challan at bank or e-post office.
- Please check the application form before submitting, because it cannot be withdrawn later.
